SEC Officially Cancels all Competition Through Spring 2020

The SEC has offically canceled all competition through the spring of 2020 including all spring football games due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The SEC released a statement today saying, "The SEC has announced all regular season conference and non-conference competitions are cancelled for remainder of the 2019-20 athletic year, including all Spring FB Games and remaining SEC championship events, due to continuing developments related to the coronavirus."

The conference had already suspended the men's basketball tournament in Nashville last Thursday after other confferences starting canceling their tournaments.

All SEC was suspended until March 30th until the league anoounced Tuesday morning that they will not resume play this season. Teams are not allowed to practice or participate in team meetings together for precautionary reasons.

Comissioner Greg Sankey spoke this morning saying, ""This is a difficult day for all of us, and I am especially disappointed for our student-athletes. The health and well-being of our entire conference community is an ongoing priority for the SEC as we continue to monitor developments and information about the COVID-19 virus."

The SEC will not be action again until college football returns in August.
