MONTGOMERY, Ala. (EETV)- Governor Kay Ivey has extended the Safer at Home order through August 31st.
This order still requires residents of Alabama to wear a face mask when they are indoors and within six feet of someone or when they are outdoors and in a group setting of more than ten people.
Those exempt are people exercising while maintaining social distancing, people under the age of 6, people with a medical condition that prohibits wearing a face covering, people consuming food or drink, those obtaining medical services that require removal of face coverings, and people talking with another whose communication relies on seeing the person's mouth.
Additionally, essential services such as first responders or where a face covering is inconsistent with industry safety standards are not required to wear a mask.
