AUBURN, Ala. (EETV) - With students settling back into campus and fall right around the corner, the NCAA Division 1 basketball council has made a decision on a date for college hoops to return.
Division 1 games will return on November 25, the day before Thanksgiving. The date was favored due the majority of colleges having empty campuses by then.
Since a start date was reached, many well-known college tournaments were forced to change their schedule.
The Maui Invitational was slated to start November 21 but is now moved to Asheville, North Carolina and is set to start November 30. The Orlando Invitational, which includes Auburn, was scheduled to start November 23 but was moved back to November 26.
Auburn’s 2019-2020 season was cut short during the SEC championship due to COVID-19. At the time, Auburn had a bye to the quarter finals thanks to a regular season that only saw 6 losses overall.
