AUBURN, Ala. (EETV) - Because of his performance Saturday, Auburn kicker Anders Carlson was awarded the Lou Groza Award which recognizes the top three kickers each week from college football.
Though the rain was pouring down on Jordan-Hare Stadium Saturday, it did not stop Carlson who came out of the game three for four on field goals and completing all three of his extra point attempts. However, the kick that really shined was the late fourth-quarter kick from the 39-yard line that secured the victory for Auburn.
The junior from Colorado Springs came out of the game with 12 points making his new career total 212. This new total moves him to 12th overall in scoring for Auburn.
Anders' older brother, Daniel Carlson is no stranger to the award as well. During his tenure at Auburn he received the award 3 separate times.
Other recipients for this week's Lou Groza Award include Georgia sophomore Jack Podlesny and East Carolina Senior Jake Verity.
