AUBURN, Ala. (EETV) - Freshman Tyler Stice was the overall singles winner and Tad Maclean and Finn Murgett were Auburn’s winners in doubles at the Vanderbilt Invitational.
Stice went 3-0 in singles, defeating competitor Maxim Verboven of Arkansas with a score of 6-1, 6-2. He topped George Harwell of Vanderbilt with a score of, 5-7, 6-2, 6-4. Ending with another three-set win over Millen Hurrion of Kentucky, 2-6, 7-6, 6-0.
Maclean and Murgett went 2-1 in doubles; with Arkansas defeating then 8-1 followed up with a8-5 win over Vanderbilt.
The Auburn Tigers posted 16 wins in singles and totaled six doubles victories. The competition featured Vanderbilt, Auburn, Arkansas and Kentucky.
