AUBURN, Ala. (EETV) - Auburn Women’s golfer Elina Sinz has been named the SEC Freshman of the Week after leading the Tigers to a 5th place finish in the Moon Golf Invitational this past weekend.
Elina Sintz was one of only twenty-one golfers to finish under par for the weekend at the Moon Golf Invitational in Melbourne, FL. Sintz along with senior Mychael O’Berry led the Tigers, each scoring one under par on the weekend, which was good enough to put them in a tie for 13th individually.
Sintz has been off to an amazing freshman season finishing no worse than 13th in each of her three collegiate tournaments. She has shot par or better in 6 or her 9 rounds and has an average score of 71.7 per round.
Sintz and the Tigers will be back in action March 1-3, for the Gamecock Intercollegiate in Columbia, South Carolina.
