Auburn, Ala. (EETV) - The Winter Invitational Event is currently on display at the Jan Dempsey Community Arts Center. It features a total of 40 works from Frank Uhlig and Hugh Williams.
Frank Uhlig is a retired professor from Auburn's own Department of Mathematics. After his time at the university, he pursued his creative passion of photography. His 26 photographs that are on display at the Winter Invitational mostly focus on the Black Belt, with some that show Auburn's Rural Studio building projects and sites.
Hugh Williams is a former art professor from Auburn University. He received an opportunity to visit West Africa during his time as a professor, and to this day his art has been influenced by his travels. His 14 ink drawings displayed at the Jan Dempsey Community Arts Center present traditional African clothing as well as market scenes in Ghana.
The Art Gallery is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. until noon. Masks and social distancing are required. For information about the exhibition, contact 334-501-2963.
