AUBURN, Ala (EETV) - The Auburn women’s golf team finished the third round of the Gamecock Intercollegiate on Wednesday on their way to their fourth straight top-five finish.
The Tigers played 27 holes Tuesday in preparation for inclement weather. They finished the last nine holes of the tournament Wednesday and finished the week at 15-over par.
Senior Mychael O'Berry was a highlight for the Tigers. She finished sixth on the overall leaderboard after going even throughout the tournament. It was highlighted by her second round, in which she shot 3-under par. She hit 11 birdies throughout the tournament and got as high as third place.
Kaleigh Telfer also had a solid tournament, finishing 15th overall with a score of 2-over par.
No team was able to score under par for the week. Duke won the tournament after going even through three rounds. They were led by Erica Shepherd who was one of only five golfers to score under par leading the entire field with a score of 7-under par.
The Tigers will be back in action March 19-21, at the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic at the UGA Golf Course. The Tigers won the Liz Murphey Fall Collegiate Classic at the same course in November.
