AUBURN, Ala. (EETV) As the offseason progresses for the Auburn baseball program, more postseason recognition continues to roll in for Butch Thompson’s squad. Graduate third baseman Rankin Woley was named a Senior CLASS Award First Team All-American on Tuesday.
Prior to his naming to the team, Woley became Auburn baseball’s first finalist for the award which is given to the most outstanding senior student-athletes in Division I baseball each year. The third baseman is one of 10 players in college baseball to be chosen by the selection committee.
The announcement comes following Woley’s recognition as the 2020 SEC Scholar Athlete of the Year, CoSIDA Academic All-America and Collegiate Baseball All-America.
A native of Atlanta, Ga. was the only player in Division I to rank in the top 20 for hits, doubles and RBI in 2021. The longtime Tiger posted 12 doubles and 10 home runs en route to an average of .320 on the season.
Woley earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration, completing his undergraduate with a 3.92 and graduating summa cum laude.
