Auburn, Ala. (EETV) - SEC acknowledges Auburn soccer players Anna Haddock and Alyssa Malonson as two of the SEC Soccer Players of the Week.
The SEC Offensive Player of the Week was Auburn midfielder Anna Haddock. She is a sophomore from Bowling Green, Ky. and accounted for three of Auburn's four goals, including both game-winners, in wins at Samford and against No. 15 BYU. She scored the game-winner in the 70th minute of Auburn's win at Samford and netted both goals in Auburn's 2-1 win against No. 15 BYU.
The SEC Defensive Player of the Week was Auburn defender Alyssa Malonson. A senior from Spring, Texas, she got Auburn's scoring for the 2021 season started as she headed a free kick from midfield out of the air and into the back of the net to tie the season opener at Samford at 1-1. Two days later, Malonson assisted on the game-winner against No.15 BYU, marking the 20th assist of her career.
