AUBURN, Ala. (EETV) -- Saturday afternoon, Auburn defeated Clemson, 11-7, in 12 innings at Plainsman Park to end their exhibition schedule.
Auburn hit well, scoring in seven straight innings and racking up 17 hits across the game.
"These last two weeks have been good, playing against outside competition," head coach Butch Thompson said. "We got a ton of guys in the ballgame, and both teams will take something from it. We were just competitive today with Clemson. I like how many guys we can run into a ballgame."
Twenty-one players got a plate appearance, and 13 of them got a hit, including two home runs from Bryson Ware and Copper Self.
Pitching in the game was a positive as well. Auburn had 12 pitchers take the mound across the 12 innings, having a total of 15 strikeouts across the game.
Next, Auburn will hold its Blue vs. Orange World Series. Teams will be drafted Monday, and the three-game series will take place Wednesday through Friday at Plainsman Park.
