AUBURN, Ala. (EETV) - The return of Auburn's Downtown Trick or Treat brings a ghoulishly fun time with a costume contest, fun activities and events, and delicious treats!
From 6-8 p.m., Downtown Auburn will be bustling with Halloween festivities. Children and families are encouraged to visit downtown merchants to trick or treat for Halloween treats, DJ Ozz will be providing tunes for visitors to dance to, and Laurel Alford will be there for some truly spectacular balloon animals! Also, there will be birds of prey from the Southeastern Raptor Center, a firetruck on display from Auburn Public Safety, and so much more! Everyone's favorite tiger, Aubie, will also be there to bring Halloween cheer!
For the 2021 Costume Contest, secret judges will be handing out costume contest invitations throughout the night. If you receive an invitation, be sure to meet under the street lights on College Street next to Toomer's Corner for judging at 6:45 p.m. There will be signs directing you to each category. Trophies will be awarded in four categories:
- Best Individual Costume (for ages 12 and younger)
- Best Group Costume
- Best Pet Costume
- Most Original Costume
If you can't attend the Downtown Trick or Treat, neighborhood door-to-door trick-or-treating is scheduled for Oct. 31 from 6-8 p.m.
The Downtown Trick or Treat event will be free for all participants. It will be help rain or shine and is open to the public. Keep in mind that children must be accompanies by parents. Check out facebook.com/CityofAuburnAL for more details!
