AUBURN Ala. (EETV) - Defensive back Roger McCreary is the first Auburn player to receive All-American honors from The Associated Press, The Athletic, ESPN, and the Senior Bowl since Derrick Brown in 2019.
The senior from Mobile, Alabama, put together an excellent season with the Tigers ranking first in the SEC and eighth nationally in passes defended per game with 1.3. McCreary had two interceptions and 14 pass deflections on the year.
McCreary’s 14 pass breakups are tied for second-most in a single season in Auburn history and only one less than record-holder 2013 Chris Davis.
The Bednarik semifinalist stands at second in program history for PBUs, with 38 across his career.
McCreary will take on the Reece’s Senior Bowl on February 5th in his hometown of Mobile, Alabama.
