AUBURN, Ala. (EETV) - Auburn Freshman Jabari Smith earns SEC Co-Freshman of the week following his performances on the road at Alabama and Ole Miss.
Against the Tide, Smith set multiple career highs. He set highs in points, recording 25 points off an 8-of-14 shooting performance going 3-for-6 from beyond the arc. In addition to the career-high in points, the freshman had highs in blocks and minutes played in regulation with four and 34 minutes played.
Smith put up 15 against Ole Miss while leading the team in minutes for the second time during the week. The forward also recorded three rebounds and an assist.
Kentucky freshman TyTy Washington Jr. joins Smith following his games at Vanderbilt and versus Tennessee. Washington went 10-for-13 from the field and a perfect 6-for-6 from the line en route to a 28 point game.
The Freshmen will face off on Saturday at noon in front of a sold-out crowd at Auburn Arena. The game will be broadcast on CBS.
