Auburn, Alabama (EETV) - The No. 28 Auburn men's tennis team was defeated by No. 5 Tennessee, 6-1, Sunday afternoon in Knoxville, Tennessee. The Tigers finished 18-9 for the spring season and 5-6 in conference play.
Auburn was dominated by Tennessee in both singles and doubles. In singles, Finn Murgett, Tad Maclean and Raui Dobai won first sets, but the Volunteers won on courts 6, 1 and 2 to secure the team win.
In doubles, Tennessee won 6-1 on court one and 6-2 on court two to pick up the team point.
After the match was clinched, Murgett defeated Angel Dias in a three-set match by a 6-4, 3-6, 6-4 score. Maclean and Dobai both fell in third-set tiebreakers.
Auburn's next matchup will be against Ole Miss at 11:00 a.m. CT. in the SEC tournament in Athens, Ga.
