Auburn, Ala. (EETV) - With the third pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, the Houston Rockets select Jabari Smith, power forward from Auburn University.
In his one year at Auburn, Smith averaged 16.9 points, 7.4 rebounds, two assists and a block a game. The National Association of Basketball Coaches named Smith Freshman of the Year.
In his consensus All-American led Auburn to an SEC Regular Season Title, a 28-6 record going 15-3 in the SEC and a second round tournament run.
Smith will slide into the power forward slot for the young Rockets core.
Smith's one-and-done year on the plains will not be soon forgotten.
