AUBURN, Ala. (EETV) - Auburn running back Tank Bigsby announced via Instagram yesterday that he is turning pro. The Junior enters the NFL Draft as the No. 9 running back in the 2023 draft class according to ESPN.
Bigsby is one of the most exceptional runners to ever wear the orange and blue.
“My dreams came true when coach Malzahn and his staff offered me the opportunity to become an “Auburn” student-athlete. I’ll forever be appreciative for Coach “Lac” Williams’ leadership and him believing in me and my capabilities.”
Bigsby’s name was continually up there with the best of the best in college football over the last couple of seasons. At Auburn, he ranks seventh all-time in rushing yards with 2,903 and eighth all-time in touchdowns with 25. This season, Bigsby totaled 10 rushing touchdowns for the second year in a row. He nearly recorded back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons, but came just 30 yards short this year, finishing with 970 yards on the ground. He was ranked sixth among rushers in the Southeastern Conference.
Bigsby’s best game of the 2022 season was against No. 9 Ole Miss in October. Despite the 48-34 loss in Oxford, he rushed 20 times for 179 yards and two touchdowns. He totaled 100-plus yards in four games in his final season with the Tigers.
Bigsby now joins three other Auburn Tigers that have entered their names in the NFL Draft: edge-rusher Derick Hall, linebacker Owen Pappoe, and defensive tackle Colby Wooden.
