AUBURN, Ala. (EETV) -- After a strong first recruiting cycle Hugh Freeze and his staff will now turn a page in the book and look forward to the 2024 class. The new staff will attempt to make a lasting impression on recruits and start to build relationships in hopes they will help bring Auburn back to the next level.
This weekend is the beginning of that process as Auburn’s annual junior day seems to be off to a great start with as many as 50 recruits expected to be on The Plains this weekend to visit the school.
Let’s break down some of the biggest names that will be visiting.
2024 Class
4-Star RB J’Marion Burnette, Andalusia, Ala.
The running back has been heavily recruited by Cadillac Williams for some time now. J’Marion Burnette brings a big build to the backfield at 6’1” 210 lbs., which is something the Tigers will continue to look to add to the roster.
The back currently has offers from the likes of Georgia, Tennessee, Michigan, Oregon, Alabama, Arkansas, Florida State, and Oregon, among others.
4-star LB Demarcus Riddick, Clanton, Ala. (Chilton County)
Demarcus Riddick is one of the top players in the 2024 class and is verbally committed to Georgia since November. The dual-sport athlete was visited by Hugh Freeze at his basketball game last week in an effort to build interest from Riddick. It has seemed to work, as he will come down to Auburn this weekend.
Do not expect any news on Riddick flipping his commitment this week, as it will take more than a short amount of time to do that. Look at this as the first step for Riddick to interact with the new staff to start to develop a relationship.
4-star CB Zion Ferguson, Gainesville, Fla.
Much like Riddick and many other recruits, this will be the first meeting with the new staff for Zion Ferguson to try and build a relationship. The highly-rated cornerback committed to LSU in September and has expressed his intentions to stick with the school. Hugh Freeze and company look to make a good impression in hopes of changing that.
4-star DB Travaris Banks, Tuscaloosa, Ala. (Northside)
The defensive back has been climbing up the ranks recently making him a more coveted asset for the future. Banks has been adding up the offers, most notably from Florida, Florida State, Tennessee, Alabama, and Auburn.
The expectation is Auburn will land in Banks’ top schools and have a good shot to land the future Power Five talent.
3-star S Kaleb Harris, Alabaster, Ala. (Thompson)
Auburn will try to change their luck with recruiting at Thompson with Kaleb Harris. The safety put in a productive past two seasons and will be a big target for Zac Etheridge after re-offering him earlier this month.
The safety currently holds 19 offers with Tennessee, LSU, Penn State, and Florida State all fighting for his commitment along with Auburn.
LB Joseph Phillips, Tuskegee, Ala. (Booker T. Washington)
Joseph Phillips just recently started playing football in the past couple years, but that has not stopped him from turning heads. Phillips was re-offered earlier this month and Auburn will try to impress the future star to keep him close to home.
He holds many offers with some of the most notable being Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Ole Miss, and Tennessee.
4-star APB Ronnie Royal, Gulf Shores, Ala.
Ronnie Royal will be one of the few players on this list visiting that does not have an official offer from Auburn. The APB put together an impressive junior year and it would not be surprising to see him leave this weekend with an offer.
4-star WR Chance Robinson, Fort Lauderdale, Fla. (St. Thomas Aquinas)
Chance Robinson is a talented receiver that is being sought out by the likes of every major program in the country. Auburn re-offered Robinson when the new staff came in and they will look to gain traction over other schools in his recruitment.
He currently holds over 20 offers from top programs including Florida State, Alabama, and Georgia.
4-star DE Jeffery Rush, Pascagoula, Miss.
Jeffery Rush will be a big force for any team on the defensive line. The junior recently visited Texas, which is expected to be one of his top schools, before coming to Auburn this weekend.
He currently holds offers from Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Texas, Arkansas, Auburn, and Florida State.
4-star LB Zavier Hamilton, Navarre, Fla.
Auburn will for sure try to leave an impression on Zavier Hamilton. The linebacker has caught the attention of many schools and Auburn’s new staff will for sure be ones to try and capitalize on him visiting this weekend with heavy interest in the player by Notre Dame.
2025 Class
4-star DE Zion Grady, Troy, Ala. (Charles Henderson)
It is a no-brainer that Hugh Freeze and his staff will try to impress Zion Grady. Although Grady is set to graduate in 2025, he is already a top 10 player in the nation for his class and will be a crucial piece to whatever team he goes to. The defensive end has had an offer from Auburn since last summer.
Grady currently has offers from Alabama, Georgia, Arkansas, and Florida State before the start of his junior year.
4-star DB Anquon Fegans, Alabaster, Ala. (Thompson)
Anquon Fegans will be one of the most highly recruited players in the 2025 class. He had an impressive sophomore season which saw him help Thompson win another state championship. The defensive back is known for his speed, as he returned multiple interceptions for touchdowns this past season.
Fegans currently holds over 25 offers with schools including Georgia, Alabama, LSU, Michigan, Oklahoma, and Tennessee.
4-star QB Antwann Hill, Warner Robins, Ga. (Houston County)
Antwann Hill is a top QB in Georgia and he showed that by throwing for 3,663 yards and 40 touchdowns this past season. He has picked up offers from UAB, Penn State, and Cincinnati this week alone.
Hill already has 17 offers with Tennessee, Georgia, and Notre Dame all in the mix.
4-star RB Anthony Rogers, Pike Road, Ala.
Anthony Rogers is an explosive running back who Auburn will try to make an impression on and start to build a relationship with.
Rogers currently holds 20+ offers with Michigan, Texas, Alabama, Oregon, Auburn, and Georgia all in for him.
2027 Class
QB Trent Seaborn, Alabaster, Ala. (Thompson)
Possibly the most interesting name that will be at Auburn this week is Trent Seaborn. The eighth-grader led Thompson to a Class 7A state championship in the fall where he was named MVP of the game.
Seaborn has accumulated multiple Power Five offers ahead of his visit this weekend. He is not currently offered by Auburn, but the 14-year-old will still meet will the new staff for the first time.
The would-be middle schooler currently holds 10 offers with Nebraska, Wisconsin, Maryland, and Ole Miss being the most notable.
