AUBURN, ALA (EETV) – Sunisa Lee began her final season in an Auburn leotard with a bang, earning SEC Gymnast of the Week honors following her performance at the Super 16 in Las Vegas.
This marks the fourth time Lee has won the award, the first of her sophomore season.
The St. Paul native earned her first all-around title of the season against some of the top talent collegiate gymnastics has to offer. Her score of 39.750 is the top score in the country this young season.
In addition to the all-around, she won the beam title with a perfect 10.0, the fourth perfect score of her career on beam.
Along with her perfect score on beam, Lee added a 9.95 on bars and 9.9s on both vault and floor.
Lee and the Tigers kick off Southeastern Conference competition Friday, traveling to Gainesville to take on last year’s conference champion and current No. 2 Florida. Auburn and the Gators square off at 6:30 p.m. CT on ESPN2.
