AUBURN, Ala. (EETV) - An AU Alert from Campus Safety and Security warned students of a group on campus trying to engage with students under false pretenses.

According to the alert, this group poses as students and attempts to try to lure students into participating in activities with their group and hands out baked goods to those who interact with them.

The individuals have been banned from Auburn’s campus; however, students should still be careful when engaging with strangers on and around campus.

Campus Safety and Security warned students to take the extra steps to confirm that organizations are legitimately affiliated with Auburn by researching the organization’s background and recent mentions. The email also mentions to not eat home-packaged food from strangers, be wary when providing personal information and be alert to “love bombing”.

More information is to come about this organization’s whereabouts and history.
