AUBURN, Ala. (EETV) – While the present-day Tigers were busy preparing for a game against Georgia, the team’s future got a little brighter after five-star PG Tahaad Pettiford committed to Bruce Pearl and the Tigers.
Continuing Auburn’s small guard trend the 5-foot-11, 160-pound guard is the third highest-rated recruit the Tigers have ever landed, according to the 247Sports Composite.
Pettiford is currently rated as the No. 22 overall player in the class of 2024 with the possibility of moving up.
"Going on that visit, stepping on the campus, it just felt like a second home to me," Pettiford said during his announcement on the 247Sports YouTube channel. "It felt like a place where I knew I could play at and they could help me excel my game and take me to the next level."
Pettiford joins four-star center Peyton Marshall in Auburn’s 2024 class.
With Pettiford committed to the Tigers, eyes now turn to fellow five-star guard Dylan Harper. Harper is currently listed as the fourth-best recruit in the 2024 class. He is the best player from his home state of New Jersey while Pettiford is the second-best from the Garden State.
