Tigers Pull Out a Close Win Over Vanderbilt On Senior Night, 78-76

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV) — After an intense back-and-forth game and a senior night celebration, the Auburn Tigers (15-13) were able to seal a win over the Vanderbilt Commodores (12-18) at the Tigers’ home court in Neville Arena.

Honesty Scott-Grayson was the leading scorer of the game for the Tigers with 15 points. Scott-Grayson led the team to the win in the last 4.4 seconds of the game after securing a loose ball.

“For my last [game], to come out with a win is very important to me,” Scott-Grayson says. “I wouldn’t have done it without my teammates and coaching staff.”

Auburn shot 27-62 (44%) from the field, 6-17 (35%) from the three-point range, and 18-27 (67%) from the free-throw line.

“I feel like we’ve fixed some things offensively… we have to make better decisions down the road,” head coach Johnnie Harris says as she reflects on their loss against the Georgia Bulldogs last Thursday. “We have to work on rebounding,” Harris says.

Vanderbilt shot 26-53 (49%) from the field, 5-14 (36%) from the three-point range, and 19-26 (73%) from the free-throw line.

Ciaja Harbison was the leading scorer for the Commodores with 27 total points.

Coach Harris and the Tigers are eager to get back in the gym and perfect their work as they prepare to take on the Georgia Bulldogs for a second time to start off the SEC Tournament.

Coach J and the team will be back in action in the second round of the SEC Tournament Thursday, March 2. Tip-off is set for 5:00 p.m. CT.
