AUBURN, Ala. (EETV) - This Saturday marked Auburn’s highly anticipated fall Auburn Rodeo, headlined by country music artist Zach Bryan.
Sistrunk Farms’ gates opened at noon for Auburn students and residents to tailgate, watch a live rodeo and gather in the festival area at 4 p.m. to watch performances from J. R. Carroll, Luke Grimes, Ian Munsick and Zach Bryan.
At 2 p.m. the live rodeo kicked off showcasing Bareback, Saddle Bronc, Bull Riding and a Wild Donkey Relay Race.
Auburn University senior Caroline Furey was one of many students who attended Auburn Rodeo.
“My favorite artist at rodeo this year was Zach Bryan,” said Furey. “I bought my ticket for rodeo on presale when it was announced that it was him, because I have been a big fan of him for a while. He completely exceeded my expectations and put on an amazing show.”
The anticipation to see Bryan, who recently released a new album in August and EP in September, showed to be a huge pull for fans to attend Rodeo. The one-day festival sold out quickly.
Many attendees were surprised with the change in weather during Rodeo. With a low of 50 degrees Saturday night, attendees experienced the lowest temperatures of the season so far.
“My combined high and low for rodeo was the weather,” said Furey. “It was so nice outside during the day, truly the first cool day of the season, but once it hit night time, it was freezing cold for my standards, and I wasn’t prepared.”
Nevertheless, Auburn Rodeo proved to be a success, allowing for a fun way for students to spend their football by-weekend.
“The concert was easily the best this time around, and there were a lot more people there with [Bryan] being a popular artist,” said Furey.
