AUBURN, Ala. (EETV) – Robby Ashford has played his final season as an Auburn Tiger this year and will go into the transfer portal with two years of eligibility left.
Ashford split time with Payton Thorne and finished the 2023 season with 145 passing yards, two touchdown passes, two interceptions, 217 rushing yards, and five rushing touchdowns.
In 2022, The Hoover native started nine games, replacing TJ Finley as the starter against Missouri. He led the Tigers to a 3-6 record that season with him as the starting quarterback.
One of his most notable games that season was the Iron Bowl in Bryant-Denny, where he had three total touchdowns, with two in the first half that kept the Tigers in the game. He is also known for his athleticism and speed which made him stand out amongst the other Auburn quarterbacks.
This will be Ashford's second stint in the portal after redshirting his freshman year at Oregon.
