AUBURN, Ala. (EETV) - Tomorrow, on the Upper Quad Lawn, Auburn’s UPC and BSU plan to co-host a watch party for students to come together and watch the critically acclaimed film, The Color Purple.
The Color Purple is based on Alice Walker’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel of the same name. The film follows Celie who faces a multitude of hardships in her life. She has been torn apart from her sister and children and has to deal with an abusive husband. She finds support from a singer named Shug Avery, and her stepdaughter and together they’ll find strength in the unbreakable bond of sisterhood.
The “doors” will open at 7 p.m. and the movie will start at 7:30 p.m. Free food and drinks will be provided while supplies last. Check out AU Involve to RSVP.
