Auburn Records Second Straight Season Sellout Despite Shaky Start

AUBURN, AL. (EETV)- The Auburn football Instagram account (@auburnfootball) announced Wednesday that the remainder of the season’s home games had officially sold out, marking the second straight year the Auburn faithful have shown up in full force for an entire season.

Prior to the 2023 season, the last time the team had a full-season sellout was in 2014.

This news comes in spite of Auburn’s abysmal 2-5 start to the season, in which many fans have been incredibly critical of the team and Coach Freeze. Despite this, the Auburn faithful have shown no hesitation in showing up in full force this season.

In his Monday press conference (the first conference since the news broke), Head Coach Hugh Freeze had this to say about the fans and their dedication:

“I can’t say enough about the Auburn people. The ones that made the trip to Missouri will make the trip to Kentucky and then to sell out our last home games. It just speaks to the love and passion that they have for this place, the players, the support of the staff even in the difficult times… I know that in the past the Auburn fans and Auburn people have this knock that goes against them that they’re not supportive. That has been far from the case for me and my experience. They are incredibly supportive… I couldn’t be more thankful for the support of the Auburn Family. They continue to prove it over and over again.”

Jordan-Hare Stadium has consistently proven time and time again to be a formidable challenge to any visiting team, earning it the fourth rank among all college football stadiums, behind only Tennessee, Penn State, and LSU. This is, no doubt, heavily contributed to by the consistency and intensity of the fanbase that shows up year after year.

Following their Saturday matchup at Kentucky, Auburn will begin a three-game home stretch at 11 A.M. CT on November 2nd against Vanderbilt.
