AUBURN, Ala. (EETV) – New Realm Brewing Co. hosted Howl-o-ween on Friday, where pet owners showcased their creativity through dog costumes.
The event was designed to give dogs the ultimate Halloween experience and raise money for CARE Humane Society.
Howl-o-ween featured a pet parade, costume contest and a variety of festivities for attendees to enjoy while enjoying fine brews from New Realm.
A community vote determined Hank the Spider as the winner of the contest, rewarding him and his owners with a first-place paw trophy and a $25 gift card to New Realm.
Although this event was meant for entertainment, Head Brewer General Manager Drew Kostic reflects on its deeper meaning.
“This is a charity event,” Kostic said. “I want to promote the importance of adoption and raise money for a good cause.”
All money and proceeds went to CARE to provide aid for resources needed to support dogs without a home and provide them with the supplies for sustainability.
Director of Development for CARE Humane Society Jenny Warren attended to provide information and pamphlets to any attendees present.
“We are full right now,” Warren said. “Even if you can’t adopt, foster.”
