AUBURN, Ala. (EETV) -- Last Friday the University Program Council (UPC) hosted a Super Smash Bros tournament in the Melton Student Center Game Room. Participants were offered free pizza and prizes if they emerged victorious.
The Student Center Game Room is not only a fun place to hang out with friends; it is also a vital organ of student involvement.
Aaron Aldaz, Assistant Director of Finance for UPC's pop-up events shared insight on why Game Room events are so important for involvement.
“Many students probably don’t feel too comfortable in some bigger events,” he said. “We just really think that [Game Room events] are a great opportunity for people to come out and make friendships and bonds that they normally wouldn’t be able to make," says Aldaz.
