No. 1 Auburn Equestrian Continues to Dominate in NCEA with Win Against No. 4 Oklahoma State

AUBURN, AL (EETV) - On Friday morning, the first-ranked Auburn equestrian team trotted into the OSU Equine Center to take on the fourth-ranked Oklahoma State University Cowgirls in yet another competitive matchup of two ranked opponents vying for an NCEA championship.

Auburn jumping seat riders took the reigns to start the morning with Avery Glynn (So.) scoring an event-high of 89, earning a point for the Tigers. Mary-Grace Segars (Sr.) and Ellie Ferrigno (Gr.) both posted scores in the mid-80s to take home two more points for Auburn.

Courtesy of early points from Glynn and MG Segars, the Tigers are off to a quick start winning the Fence event with a score of 4-1.

The Tigers then set their sights on the Reining event, as Auburn western riders took the charge against the Cowgirls.

Auburn’s Alexia Tordoff (Jr.) and Olivia Bradley (Gr.) each earned scores of 74 in their respective rides, taking two points total to bolster the Tigers’ Reining event lead.

The western riders finished the job for the Tigers in the Reining event, as Auburn won their second consecutive event with a score of 4-1.

The OSU Cowgirls looked to counter Auburn’s successes as jumping seat riders entered back into the arena for the Flat event.

Mary-Grace Segars, Avery Glynn, and Ellie Ferrigno remain successful as they posted winning scores of 77, 79, and 75 in their flatwork rides. Glynn once again earned the highest score in the second jumping seat event of the day for the Tigers.

Even with the Cowgirls taking two points of their own, the Tigers sealed the Flat event win with a competitive score of 3-2.

Last on the agenda for the Tigers was the Horsemanship event which featured standout performances from Auburn western riders Sydney Swallom (So.) and Alexia Tordoff.

Swallom scored an event-high of 80 in Horsemanship to take one point for the Tigers, with Tordoff scoring a 78.5 to take home yet another point.

Despite Auburn’s standout Horsemanship rides, OSU bounced back, taking the event win with a score of 3-2.

The Tigers ultimately outrode the Cowgirls, as Auburn extended their win streak to five games to remain undefeated in the 2024-25 season.

To highlight Auburn’s standout performances, Avery Glynn, Ellie Ferrigno, Sydney Swallom, and Alexia Tordoff all took home Most Outstanding Performer honors in the Flat, Fence, Horsemanship, and Reining events.

Auburn Equestrian returns home to the Auburn University Equestrian Center next Saturday, November 9th at 11:00 AM CST for an SEC showdown against the second-ranked Texas A&M Aggies.
