African Student Association to celebrate African Cultural Week next week

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV) - Auburn’s African Students Association’s African Cultural Week is set to kick off next week.

This week is meant to be a transformative celebration that aims to bridge cultures, spark meaningful conversations, and create a lasting impact on the Auburn University community. Through this week-long experience, ASA aims to honor African heritage through showcasing diverse traditions, and fostering inclusivity by immersing students, faculty, and community members in the richness of African culture.

This event is meant to be more than just a celebration and ASA believes it will be a great opportunity to educate, inspire, and connect the Auburn University community. Through next week's events highlighting music, dance, fashion, history, and storytelling, ASA wants to provide a platform for cultural exchange and global awareness of African culture.

Next week's events begin on 31st of March with Afro Gyration, which Eagle Eye reporter Morgan Sims will be covering.

Day two will feature a Community Advancement Discussion, day three will feature the Taste of Africa, and day four will feature a movie night.

On April 6th, everything will culminate in Cultural Night, the Grand Finale, which will be covered by me, Eagle Eye Reporter Beauman Ivester. The Grand Finale Red Carpet begins at 5pm in the Melton Student Center ballroom.

This event will feature musical performances, delicious African cuisine, spoken word and storytelling, a mind blowing cultural dance, a short film on African heritage, and awards and special recognitions. There will also be an exclusive raffle with prizes for attendees.

If you want to take part in the biggest, loudest, most electrifying cultural experience on campus, tickets are on sale now for $14.99 and can be bought by using one of the QR Codes in the graphic below.

We hope to see you there and don’t forget to check out our exclusive coverage of the events, right here on Eagle Eye TV, Auburn’s news leader!
