Auburn City Council approves $500K contribution for new roundabout at Society Hill & Moores Mill Road

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV) - In an effort to relieve traffic at the intersection of Society Hill Road and Moores Mill Road, the Auburn City Council has contributed $500,000 toward the construction of a new roundabout at the location.

“We appreciate the Lee County Commission and the staff at Lee County for working with the City of Auburn to make this happen,” said Auburn Mayor Ron Anders in his city council recap.

The area sees a high volume of traffic, causing the council to prioritize this project.

“This is a very busy intersection as we have many individuals and citizens from our county that come into Auburn to work and shop every day,” said Anders.

The FY25 Capital Improvement Plan shows the funding for the project, as the Lee County Commission approved this during the meeting in February this year.
