The Gogue Center partners with the Auburn University Department of Theater and Dance to present Broadway 101: MAMMA MIA!

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV) - This past Tuesday, the Jane and Susie Gogue Performing Arts Center collaborated with the Auburn University Department of Theater and Dance for the presentation of Broadway 101: "Mamma Mia!"

Held at The Gogue Center, Broadway 101 is a series of presentations led by Chase Bringardner, Associate Provost for Academic Affairs. The series offers insider insights into Broadway’s history while exploring how it connects to the five performances featured in the Gogue Center’s 2024-25 Broadway Series.

Ashley Pope, Campus and Community Programs Coordinator, shared, "This event focused on the the history behind 'Mamma Mia!' and how it evolved from ABBA’s music to an onstage musical to two movies."

Bringardner's presentation began with a deep dive into the early history, unique style, and distinctive sound of the iconic 1970s music group ABBA. He wrapped up by detailing the development of the "Mamma Mia!" musical and its connection to ABBA’s songs.

Approximately 50 Auburn faculty, staff, students, and community members attended the event.

The next Broadway 101 presentation will spotlight the musical "Hadestown" and will take place on Tuesday, April 22, at 5:30 p.m. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit https://aub.ie/broadway-101.
