Auburn Student Media wraps up semester with week of events

AUBURN, Ala (EETV) - As the spring semester comes to an end, Auburn University’s student media organizations are closing out with a vibrant week of final distributions and celebratory events across campus.

The Auburn Circle kicks things off with its Snaps Magazine Launch Party tonight, April 21, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Attendees can enjoy complimentary drinks and snacks while hearing directly from the featured artists whose work is showcased in the issue. The Circle will also hold its final spring distribution this week on the Haley Concourse from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., wrapping up on Thursday, April 25.

Meanwhile, WEGL 91.1 FM, Auburn’s student-run radio station, is marking 50 years of broadcasting with a packed lineup of events throughout the week, ending with a 24-hour live broadcast known as WEGL Day. The celebration begins with Vinyl Painting on Cater Lawn tonight at 5:30 p.m., a fun and creative way for students to engage with the station and each other.

On Tuesday, WEGL 91.1 FM will be spinning tracks and tabling during the University Program Council’s Earth Day Celebration.

One of the week’s most anticipated events happens Wednesday with the Jared Dillard, Alex Hursing, and Ethan Millar Memorial Basketball Game on the Noah Phillips Court. The showdown features WEGL defending their reigning champion title against fellow student media news organization Eagle Eye TV.

WEGL will cap off the week with WEGL Day, a full 24 hours of live broadcasting starting at 4 PM Thursday and running straight through until 4 PM Friday.

With finals around the corner, Auburn's student media is closing the semester with events every student can enjoy. Whether you're grabbing a magazine, painting a record, or cheering court side, there's no better way to close the semester than with the voices that tell Auburn’s stories.
