One killed in Opelika shooting

OPELIKA, Ala. (EETV)- An Opelika man was pronounced dead following a shooting Thursday night. The victim, Antonio Drisker, was reportedly shot in the 200 block of Veterans Parkway in Opelika.

Opelika Police looking for suspects in Hibbett Sports theft

OPELIKA, Ala (EETV)- Opelika Police are looking for three suspects wanted in connection to a June 22 theft at Hibbett Sports. According to police, three suspects entered the store and grabbed several merchandise items.  All three suspects then ran from the store without paying for any of the merchandise. The suspects allegedly fled the scene in a pewter in color Mercury Grand Marquis. Police describe the first suspect as a black female approximately 5’06” tall and weighing about 120 pounds with black and blond hair who was last seen wearing a black shirt and pink leggings; the second suspect as a black female about 5’08” tall and weighing about 220 pounds with black hair and who was last seen wearing a black shower cap, white tank top and blue jeans; and the third suspect as a black female about 5’03” tall and weighing about 110 pounds last seen wearing a black shower cap, purple shirt and black leggings. Police encourage anyone who can recognize the suspects or who might have information on this case to contact their detective division at (334) 705-5220.

Ainsworth, Pate and Marshall declare victory in runoff election

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV)- Party nominees were finally decided upon following Alabama's primary runoff election Tuesday night. Will Ainsworth, Steve Marshall and Rick Pate won highly contested primaries in the race to become the GOP nominee for lieutenant governor, attorney general and agriculture and industries commissioner.  Ainsworth declared his victory by writing, "This is your victory as much as ours!

Opelika Police looking for suspect in Walmart theft

OPELIKA, Ala. (EETV)- Opelika Police are looking for a suspect who allegedly made several large purchases at the Opelika Walmart using a stolen credit card. The purchases were reportedly made on June 25.  Police describe the suspect as a white female with a tattoo on her right upper arm. Gov. Ivey Announces BAE Systems' arrival to Alabama

Montgomery, Ala. -- Gov. Kay Ivey will be welcoming plans for BAE systems to expand their Alabama operations during the Farnborough International Airshow, near London, she announced Monday, July 16. BAE systems announced, in London, an expansion plan to expand its operations to the state of Alabama with a $45.5 million project, creating hundreds of jobs, according to the company. “BAE Systems’ decision to carry out this significant expansion project in Huntsville is a powerful testament to the expertise that makes Alabama’s ‘Rocket City’ an aerospace hub,” said Ivey. According to the company, the expansion extends to its offices in Huntsville, along with the development of an office space facility and the development of state-of-the-art manufacturing. The work at the facility will consist of new and existing programs and businesses including design, development and manufacturing of precision munitions and aircraft survivability technology.

Auburn, Ala. -- On Tuesday, July 11, Auburn Police arrested two men for drug related crimes. Cedreko Lamar Johnson, a 26-year-old man from Opelika was arrested for possession of a controlled substance (cocaine) and two counts of Receiving Stolen Property 3rd Degree.
