Auburn Trustees vote to build additional intramural fields

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV) - The Auburn Board of Trustees has voted to add to the number of intramural fields at Auburn.  At its meeting on Friday, the Trustees approved the purchase of two parcels of land totaling 177 acres adjacent to campus on West Longleaf Drive in order to provide expanded field labs for the College of Agriculture and College of Veterinary Medicine.

Opelika To Close Recycling Center

OPELIKA, Ala – Due to recycling material being continually contaminated, the City of Opelika will be closing the Westside Recycling Center on Grand National Parkway on April 1, 2018.  Opelika residents can sign up for curbside recycling at www.opelika-al.gov for only $10 per month or bring recycling to one of the four recycling centers – Northside Center at 600 8th Avenue, Covington Center at 213 Carver Avenue, Floral Park Center at 600 Floral Street or Jeter Avenue Center at 675 Jeter Avenue.  If citizens would like to get more information they are encouraged to call the Opelika Environmental Services Department at 334.705.5480.

STARR: This is technically a loss, but it's really not a loss

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV) - Following a tense week of elections followed by a competitive runoff, Patrick Starr was defeated Thursday evening by Dane Block.  "I think both of these campaigns were close because both had a strong message," said Starr following the final call out. Both candidates received vote reductions due to election violations.

Block Wins SGA Presidential Runoff

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV)- Dane Block has been elected Auburn University's next Student Government Association President.  Block, currently an SGA Senator for the Harbert College of Business, beat Patrick Starr in the highly contested runoff.

Final Eagle Eye TV SGA Runoff Poll Results

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV)- With over 700 votes in, Eagle Eye TV's Auburn University Student Government Association runoff election poll came in with 51 percent of the votes for Patrick Starr and 49 percent of the votes for Dane Block. Starr and Block entered the runoff on Tuesday since none of the five candidates for SGA President received the required 40 percent of the vote needed to avoid a runoff.

Purse Stolen From Auburn Arena

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV)- Officers from the Auburn Police Division responded to an alleged theft at the Auburn Arena Wednesday. According to police spokesperson Lorenza Dorsey, a member of the arena security staff reported that here purse was stolen while she worked. This was the same day that Auburn Men's Basketball played Texas A&M. Dorsey said the case is still being investigated by officers.
