Hurricane: Storms possible in our area as Harvey moves east

Auburn, Ala. (EETV) - As the outer bands of rotation from Hurricane Harvey continue to move toward our area, the likelihood for rain and storms will increase.  Auburn is on the fringe of a Marginal risk area that could see brief tornados.  As Harvey continues to track to the east, the possibility of storms grows.Storms related to Hurricane Harvey has triggered a tornado warning in Crenshaw County, Alabama and a significant weather advisory for Pike and Montgomery Counties.

Auburn participates in nationwide GameDay Challenge

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV) - The GameDay Challenge will promote sustainability through competition with other universities at home football games. This year, Auburn University will join dozens of other universities in participating in the GameDay Challenge, a nationwide sustainability initiative turned competition.

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV) - A new skatepark in the Auburn-Opelika area could be a safe haven for skaters. After a skater was hit on campus yesterday, the need for a park has become even more apparent. The cities are working together to split the cost of the park.

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV) - Auburn University has partnered with Uber to allow students to pay for rides with their Tiger Club accounts.  Tiger Club is not part of the required Tiger Card dining plans that every student has.

Students asked to move cars for game day

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV) - As football returns to the Plains this weekend, Auburn Parking Services is asking students to move their cars from designated lots on campus.  Starting on Friday with a special event in the Auburn Arena, no additional vehicles will be allowed in the Arena lot after 2:00 p.m.

Hurricane Harvey will bring rain & storms to Central Alabama over the next few days. The main threat is localized flash flooding & isolated tornadoes Wednesday through Friday. According to the National Weather service, Confidence is low at this time due to uncertainty in where banding features will develop.

Skateboarder on campus struck by car

Auburn, Ala. (EETV) - One person is in the hospital following an accident on Duncan Drive behind Plainsman Park. Captain Lorenza Dorsey with the Auburn Police Department tells EETV that an 18 year old was riding a skate board in the street when they were struck by a vehicle. Skate boards are not permitted on the sidewalk adjacent to Duncan Drive.

SGA tables Student Ticketing Appeals Committee

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV) - At Student Government Association’s Monday night Senate meeting, students voted to table a bill for an appeals committee for the new student ticketing system. The appeals committee, as it was proposed on Monday, would be tasked with removing penalty points from students who make appeals for not using their student football tickets.

2 arrested in connection to weekend attacks, robberies in Downtown Auburn

Auburn, Ala. (EETV) - On August 27, 2017, Auburn Police arrested Trevon O. Hutchinson, age 18 from Opelika and a 16 year old male juvenile from Cusseta in connection to robberies that occurred over the weekend. Hutchinson was charged with two counts of Robbery 2rd degree and two counts of Assault 3rd degree.

Emerge at Auburn Kicks off Sunday night

Auburn, Ala. (EETV) - Nearly 1,000 students filled Beard–Eaves–Memorial Coliseum Sunday night for the kick off of Emerge at Auburn. The evening featured several speakers including a keynote from Auburn President, Dr. Stephen Leath and stand up comic and Auburn Dad, Jeff Fox Worthy. Foxworthy used the acronym "redneck" to remind students of the skills and attributes they will need as a leader.  Over the next year, Emerge students will be participating in a special speaker series and several events designed to grow their leadership potential. Emerge is a new leadership program on campus this year replacing its successor Freshman Leadership Program (FLP). Rather than the one year FLP program, Emerge is a four year successive leadership experience designed to help students find an "alternative future worth forming." The goal of the program is to help Auburn men and women develop the leadership skills to lead on campus, in the community, and in their future career field.
