From the Plains to Orlando: Malzahn Takes the Reigns at UCF

(EETV) On Sunday, Dec. 12 — fewer than 24 hours after Auburn’s victory in its regular season finale — eighth-year head coach Gus Malzahn was relieved of his duties as the head of the Auburn football program. Despite speculation over if and when the coach would return to the sideline, Malzahn finds himself back in the saddle a mere 64 days later. The UCF Knights have found the next face of their program.

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV) - The Tigers topped the Commodores 73-67 Tuesday at Memorial Coliseum, thanks to a combined effort from Sharife Cooper and Jamal Johnson who each contributed 19 points. Entering the matchup with a three-game losing streak, the Auburn's defense and second-half efforts helped the team earn the win after being down two at half.

Pearl Hopeful For Defensive Improvement Against Vanderbilt

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV) In their last three game appearances, the Auburn Tigers have found themselves on the losing end of offensive showcases. Since its last win over No. 12 Missouri, Auburn has allowed opponents to average 87 points per contest, showing no resemblance of consistency on the defensive end of the floor. The Tigers are currently the top shot-blocking team in college basketball; however, if they hope to return to the win column in Tuesday night’s contest against Vanderbilt, head coach Bruce Pearl knows his squad will need to establish an identity on defense.
