Auburn Softball Second Baseman Emily Spain takes “Leave of Absence”

Before Wednesday’s game against Georgia State, something seemed a little out of place. During the non-starters introduction, Emily Spain was not mentioned. Yesterday, it was reported that Junior Emily Spain plans to take a leave of absence for unspecified reasons that are unrelated to the recent departure of assistant coach Corey Meyers. So far this season, Spain had appeared in 13 games and started in 6 with a .071 batting average with one hit at 14 at bats.

Some new developments came after practice from head coach Gus Malzahn, receiver Ryan Davis, receiver Eli Stove and defensive lineman Marlon Davidson. The quarterback competition became narrower as two competitors are no longer in the running.

Tuberville one step closer to gubernatorial run

AUBURN, AL (EETV) - Former Auburn head football coach Tommy Tuberville is no longer eyeing the end zone but now it appears his sights may be set on the state house.  n March 28 Tuberville filled to form a principal campaign committee according to records EETV has obtained from the Alabama Secretary of State's office. Also in those reports, Tuberville loaned his campaign $100,000.

Need I say more? He is also a republican... in Alabama... in the south... a REPUBLICAN coach. I think I like his chances.
